What are adjectives?

Adjectives (adjetivos) descrevem pessoas, lugares e coisas.
Em inglês, o adjetivo vem antes do substantivo — ao contrário do português!

Two positions — Duas posições

1. Antes do substantivo: a fast computer (um computador rápido)

2. Depois do verbo to be: The computer is fast. (O computador é rápido.)

It is a modern office. → The office is modern. (O escritório é moderno.) She has a good job. → Her job is good. (O emprego dela é bom.) They are fantastic colleagues. → The colleagues are fantastic. (Os colegas são fantásticos.)

Atenção: Em português dizemos "escritório moderno" — adjetivo depois. Em inglês é sempre antes: modern office!
